WARNING: Second Hand Salt

New York State Assemblyman Felix Ortiz has introduced a bill that would ban the use of salt in New York restaurants. The shaky hands of violators would be slapped with a $1,000 fine for every salty dish on the menu.

Assemblyman Ortiz is an idiot.

I love salt – I salt ham.  I sometimes fight the deer in the woods for the licks.  And I don’t  want some Brooklyn political hack telling restaurants how much salt to use or giving us a lecture on future health care cost savings in a world without sodium.

New York State is in a fiscal crisis caused, to a large extent, by NYS Assembly pork.   Why isn’t this assemblyman in Albany right now thinking up ways to cut costs and slash the budget ?

Felix – don’t like salt?  Order out for some hospital food.  And then get back to work.

This is strange but true-again. I once worked with a retired Putnam Car Porter for Nelson Rockefellers personal car. A black man-and a very nice man who was honored to be so close to the Governor. He told me when NY went broke in the 70’s that that wouldn’t have happenned if nelson was still Governor. That NYC had always tippled on the edge of going broke, but Nelson wanted to be President BAAAAD and he HAD to have a solvent New York State. He told me he had often heard Nelson Rockeffeller tell his aids to write one of his personal checks from his own money to bail the state out. People talked in front of black waiters like they weren’t there or capeable of understanding what was being talked about in the old days. Same way NOBODY talks in front of Obama because he SHOULD have been a pullman car waiter for four years before he went to Harvard, and then had his tuition money cut off.

EHH_That goes with the next piece not the salt one. Send Felix HERE and I’LL send him to the hospital. How come no-ne has thought of a bill to render the fat that comes from liposuction for fuel? Or candles?

That’s a cool Rocky story, but in as much as Nelson was “only” worth about 200 million, it’s a slight exaggeration–to say the least. The man never carried cash and routinely “borrowed” a few bucks from reporters or anybody else who happened to be standing nearby for petty expenses. Said loans were never repaid. It wouldn’t surprise me if Nelson had put the arm on that porter you mentioned.

Ortiz should be voted out of office for being a horse’s ass.
