Just One More Bland Politician

Rich Funke is a former television sportscaster who’s now running for state government.  He has a continually-playing tv commercial which says (paraphrasing) “I’m certainly not a politician. I’ll let you know exactly where I stand on issues.  I believe men and women should get equal pay for equal work.  That’s just common sense.”

Really, Rich? No shit! What balls! That may have been a hot issue a half-century ago but I’ll bet you can’t find 3-people today who will publicly state, “Women should NOT get equal pay for equal work.” Do you also support the American flag, Mom, and apple pie?  Good start! Now let’s hear how you feel about a woman’s choice, gun control, and gay rights.  What about legalizing pot and casino gambling in New York? Fracking?

Let’s face it Funke, you have the same stand other mainstream politicians have: when it’s time to take a stand, you stand aside.  It’s the same old, same old.

You’ll probably get elected – “oh, that’s the nice guy on TV” – and when you get to Albany you’ll dance to the same old tune.

Until Americans decide there are more choices than the Republicrats – they’ll get the same shitty government about which they continually snivel.

“BUT THEY CAN’T WIN!”  Sounds like it’s rigged to me.  Why vote at all? So you can choose between Tweedledumb and Tweedledumber?
