Higher Is Not Always Better

I’ve been shooting portraits for almost 40 years and I can tell you: high definition photography is usually not a model’s best friend.  Of course it is good from a satellite for identifying which breakfast cereal a terrorist is eating.  But when it comes to photographing someone’s face, less is often more.  And for some of us, the fewer details the photographer includes, the better we look.
