Dusty Springfield Wasn’t Sure

If you lived through the ’60’s, you remember legendary British pop-singer Dusty Springfield. Although most fans never thought about it at the time, Dusty couldn’t decide if she was straight or gay.  That’s why this song had such significance for her.

On March 2, 1999, Dusty died of breast cancer at 60 years old.  She had been scheduled to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame just two weeks later. At the ceremony, her friend Elton John said, “I’m biased but I just think she was the greatest white singer there ever has been … Every song she sang, she claimed as her own.”
