“Aside From That, Mrs. Lincoln

. . . How Was The Play?”

Every time I hear the year-end predictions about the future of this country’s government, economy, racism, terrorism, individual rights, pandemics, and education – I’m reminded that everything – EVERYTHING – revolves a single point about which few people even care: America’ world interventionist policy.

Somehow we have the idea that we have a right – no, a DUTY – to stick our nose into the affairs of every single other country in the world.  From a dozen wars to propping up shaky economies, America MUST have a “presence” regardless of if other nations want us there or not.  They think of us as arrogant, ignorant of other cultures, focused on military solutions, lying, and spying on the entire world.  In many cases, they’re absolutely right.

America spends most of its tax dollars connected in some way to this post World War II concept of American exceptualism.  It’s time we spent our lives, time, and treasure to rebuild America to the great nation it once was.

Our main policy should be: war with no one (unless we’re attacked) and trade with everyone – just like the Constitution says.
