Not Your Old Notre Dame Anymore

Sunday, May 5th, 2019

France’s Commission des Sciences et des Arts and the Vatican Arts Council have announced they are now accepting design applications for the new Cathedral of Notre Dame. Final decisions for the structure will be made by late 2021.

Outraged, traditional Catholic Bishops have suggested that some of the new plans appear to have airport-like gift shops, McDonalds restaurants off the main sanctuary, and an enlarged parking lot serviced by a monorail and rollercoaster.

Modern Catholic architects believe traditional structure blended with more futuristic designer-plans would attract more worshippers for the next 4-or 5-centuries.

Pledges and fund-raising drives are continuing throughout the controversial planning stages.
