Nationally Famous: Our ‘Garbage Plate’

“If you ask someone from Rochester, NY, what a Garbage Plate is, they’ll probably make you eat one. Although the name isn’t particularly appetizing on its own, you should know that the word ‘garbage’ here refers simply to abundance and variety, and there is no actual garbage involved.

Could Jesus Read And Write?

Tuesday, March 1st, 2016

Although I have an autographed picture of Jesus, I’m not totally convinced it’s authentic.  It’s also a little doubtful that the numerous Jesus autographs which have appeared on ebay are originals. Someone once said if all the slivers of wood from Jesus’ True Cross were put together, you could build a large village of 2-story, wooden houses.

Anyway, the question of Jesus’ literacy always intrigued me.  Many historical sources say the answer is a simple ‘yes’.  References also come from the New Testament and many religious sources.

Jesus must have been THE Great Communicator.  So why do so many of his audiences get him wrong century after century?  They could start with “Love thy neighbor as thyself” . . .  but they don’t.
