Wine Tour Into Whine Tour

Wednesday, August 26th, 2015

“Sistuhs On The Leading Edge,” a California-based book club, were kicked off a luxury train on its way to a Napa Valley wine tour a few days ago. 10-of the eleven women were black and it seems they were sampling the wine a bit early on the trip.

The ladies were loud and getting a little drunk when some passengers complained. Train stewards asked them to be quieter a number of times but the party got louder. Finally the employees called the police and escorted them off the train. The “Sistuhs” were told their money would be refunded and provided a way home.

Of course, predictably, the charge of RACISM was shouted and the women felt they were singled out because they were black (or predestined for a hefty settlement or lawsuit.)

What horseshit!

Some people just don’t know how to behave. Why should the rest of us have to put up with bad behavior?

But the worst behavior? That would be the left-leaning, politically correct, mainstream media which went overboard – as usual – supporting the ladies. I’ve included a link with many sources covering the story. Watch for terms like, “THREW them off,” “humiliated them,” and the best, punished for “laughing while black.”

Here’s the link:

Training For Victory

Olympic marathons remind me of my favorite runner, Rosie Ruiz. On April 21, 1980, Ruiz won the Boston Marathon’s female category with the fastest time in Boston Marathon history.

When Rosie broke through the tape the crowd cheered but a few judges raised their eyebrows.  For one thing, the woman was hardly sweating nor out of breath.  The judges also noted her thighs were a little flabby for a world class runner.

They checked the records for her qualifying run which was the New York City marathon. Her time? 2-hours 56-minutes.  Remarkably, she had just run this race in 25-minutes less!  Hmmmm.

Other runners saw Rosie start but didn’t remember seeing her pass anyone.  The winner said that was because she was so far ahead. Neither pictures nor videos came up roses for her. Race spotters didn’t remember seeing her at all.

But Boston subway riders did.

It seems Ms. Ruiz ran to a subway station, putzed around a bit, then took a train to a stop close to the finish line.  She then ran through the crowd and sprinted a few hundred yards to the finish line breaking the winners tape.

A few days later Rosie was disqualified and her medal awarded to the “second place” winner.  To this day, she contends she ran the entire race and was never even in a Boston subway.

Riders: Beware Of Brats, Fats, and Yaks

I continue to ride the bus and it continues to be a trip.

Most younger riders look like wannabe gangstas and rappers. Sometimes I think I should just call ‘America’s Most Wanted’ and say,”Yup, John – I’ve found ‘em ALL! Every last one of the damn suckers is now on Bus #7 rolling down Monroe Avenue in Rochester, New York.”

If you ever go-by-bus, here are some travel tips I’ve learned:

– the bus ONLY stops at designated stops. If you’re walking between stops and you see the bus, do NOT step into the street and wave your arms. Everyone laughs at you – ESPECIALLY the driver. Some jerks even wave.  Read more here.
