What Are The Chances?

Wednesday, July 8th, 2015
Don't give me that shit.

Don’t give me that shit.

For a few hours this morning, computer systems crashed at United Airlines, The New York Stock Exchange, and the Wall Street Journal.  Administration officials said this was not the work of hackers or terrorists – just an odd coincidence. Right. I don’t believe them.

Three years ago on September 11th, our embassy in Benghazi, Libya came under attack and our ambassador, Chris Stevens, was murdered.  Administraton officials said it was an anti-American demonstration that “got out of hand” – not an attack.  A few days later the promised “most transparent administration in history” had to admit it was an attack. They knew right away but Obama and the truth were not on speaking terms.

There’s more than coincidence here. I believe there’s a better chance that today’s crashes are connected than Obama is telling the truth.

The “Black Pearl”

Josephine Baker was an American-born French dancer, singer, and actress who became an international musical and political icon. Her outrageous acts and scandals rocked the world – but her talent was always beyond dispute.

Baker was the first African-American female to star in a major motion picture, Zouzou (1934), to integrate an American concert hall, and to become a world-famous entertainer. She is also noted for being a spy for France and working with the French resistance against Germany during WWII.  At the end of the war, she was awarded the Croix de Guerre, a high military honor, by Charles DeGaulle himself.

For years Baker also made many contributions to the Civil Rights Movement in the United States.  After Martin Luther King was assassinated, she was offered the unofficial leadership of the movement by Coretta Scott King but turned it down for the safety of her children.  Ms. Baker died in 1975.

Worst Honeymoon Ever

Eva Braun was a pretty, fun-loving, photographer’s assistant. For years she was also the loyal lover of Adolf Hitler and her life long dream was to marry der Fuhrer.  For many years Hitler claimed to be “married to Germany” and said if he married, he would “crush the dreams of millions of German girls.”  It seems power IS the ultimate aphrodisiac – and creator of delusions.

In April 1945, Braun, 33, travelled to Hitler’s bunker in Berlin. Shortly after midnight on the 29th, Eva got her wish. They were married in a small civil ceremony as the Red Army rained a storm of bombs on the city.  When she signed the marriage certificate, Eva started to write her last name ‘Braun’ but quickly crossed it out and wrote ‘Hitler.’

Early that morning, the Hitlers hosted a wedding breakfast for their immediate inner circle of staff and friends and said their farewells.  Within an hour, they both killed themselves. Hitler with a gunshot to the head – Eva with a cyanide capsule.

Their marriage lasted less than one day.
