Finally! A Tough Anti-Smoking Ad With Class

Friday, May 1st, 2015

I’m so sick of watching gross, anti-smoking TV commercials filled with amputees, rotting lungs, and malignant mouths, I’m about to take up the habit.

Someone taught these beginner copywriters (I used to be one) that when it comes to smoking, the ends justify the means. So for years, they’ve had a contest to see which ad could disgust the most people into quitting. A real live dead person in a coffin couldn’t even make the top three!

I don’t smoke – neither does 80% of the American public. I also believe the panic attack about second-hand smoke is overblown. Why do we have to watch this shit?

I feel sorry for smokers.  In addition to having a nasty habit, the society treats them like lepers and snuffs out their individual rights like used cigarettes. At least this hard-hitting message talks to them like adults with creativity and taste.
