Why ISIS Is Different

Thursday, August 28th, 2014

fanatic muslim

Today a friend expressed her surprise at my hard-ass line against ISIS. Most people know that  I have been a vehement, anti stupid-war protestor against the Vietnam, Iraqi, and Afghan wars for many years. I have never been in favor of America being “the freedom police’ of the world knowing that the real cause of these wars is economic.

Our elected politicians really care much more about massive campaign contributions from companies like Boeing and Lockheed than the individual rights of Asians and Arabs.  But war against ISIS is different. Why?

Extreme, radical fundamentalist Muslims are fanatics who do not have ties to our human, rational, civilized world. They listen to voices in the sky and live by rules from thousands of years ago. “Death to infidels” is not a quick religious saying like “love thy neighbor.” It’s an inflexible command by which they live and die. Murdering innocents to these animals is a duty not a choice.

People forget that the world’s 1.6-billion Muslims are the main targets of ISIS because they are not “holy” enough. And then there are Christians, Jews, Buddists, and the rest of us who try to live decent, human lives. This world – and how we live in it – is important to us. It means nothing to insane, religious fanatics who behead children and take pride in their viciousness.

America knocked out the dictatorships of Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan.  As disgusting as these leaders were, they kept the lid on the vermin named ISIS. America and the west opened that lid with lying promises – and now we must exterminate the creatures which crawled out.

raw

There may be as many right-wingnut wacko sites as left-wingnut wacko ones, but ‘Raw Story’ is tilted so far to the left, it may fall off the face of the earth (a cause for celebration.)  Juvenile, biased beyond belief, and sensationalized with oddball incidents used to make generalized, pondourus points, “Raw” wins the ‘We’re All  Racist – All The Time’ OMG Award.

Unfortunately it dominates FACEBOOK where little minds don’t necessarily want to know, they want to know what’s the cool political line du jour.  Unfortunately these young, brainwashed votes count just as much as yours.

What A Mugshot!

Daily News: “Top model Roosmarijn de Kok has been charged with shoplifting fish oil and three chocolate bars from Whole Foods in Tribeca, the Daily News has learned. The 19-year-old Dutch stunner, who donned the cover of Vogue in Thailand and who is signed with Wilhelmina Models, was in Manhattan Criminal Court on Monday to answer charges.

She wore a black lacy leg-bearing dress and pumps as she sheepishly stood before a judge.

De Kok — who nervously hugged her leather jacket — had to be told to stand properly before things got rolling.

“Before we proceed, please tell your client to unfold her arms,” Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Denise Dominguez said to her lawyer Sal Strazzullo, who is known for handling high-profile fashion and nightlife clients.

De Kok is charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth-degree for the alleged shoplifting at the 270 Greenwich St. location about 3:20 p.m. on July 18. She was given a desk appearance ticket with Monday as the return date.”

We Have A Little Problem Here, Mr. Morgan

J.P. Morgan Jr. was testifying before a Congressional committee investigating the causes of the 1929 stock market crash. Morgan was forced to disclose his bank’s questionable business practices, such as excessive compensation and failure to pay income taxes. The hearings resulted in a major overhaul of the Securities & Exchange Commission.

To add to the circus-like atmosphere, a midget was plopped in Morgan’s lap at the end of the proceedings to the delight of the press and the consternation of J.P.

Better A Hard Liar Than A Soft Porn Star

Wednesday, August 27th, 2014

Cortland County, NY, District Attorney Mark Suben was outraged! His election opponents accused him of being in pornographic movies in the 1970′s and he adamantly denied it.

Two weeks later he was re-elected.  A few days after that, Suben admitted he lied and denied the story just long enough to win re-election.  He said he used “bad judgment” – not in lying – but in acting in porn films when he was young. The Syracuse, New York media identified him as the actor “Gus Thomas” who performed in at least a dozen pornographic movies.

One of his forgettable on-screen performances was in “The Devil’s Due,” in which he played a satanic cult leader who tricked women into bondage sex. Among his lines: “I am the all-powerful! The spirit of Satan flows through my shaft!” and “You must kiss the cock of Satan!” Pretty strong stuff for a DA.

At one point in the film, the heroine screams at him, “You’re as powerful as your prick. Which is very little.” Ouch.

“The Devil’s Due” was not nominated for an Academy Award.  During his public confession Suben admitted he lied to win re-election and now doesn’t know what to do.

Hey buddy – don’t worry about it. The American voter is used to getting fucked by people like you.

Sleeping Student

In my city, over 50% of the students who begin high school do not graduate.  I don’t think letting them sleep longer in the morning will make much of a difference.

“Your teenager wants to sleep later and now his doctor agrees. Middle and high school students shouldn’t have to start school until 8:30 in the morning or later, the American Academy of Pediatrics says.

“The research is clear that adolescents who get enough sleep have a reduced risk of being overweight or suffering depression, are less likely to be involved in automobile accidents, and have better grades, higher standardized test scores and an overall better quality of life,” says Dr. Judith Owens, director of sleep medicine at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, who led the team that wrote the group’s policy statement on the issue.

Studies have shown that delaying early school start times is one key factor that can help adolescents get the sleep they need to grow and learn.”
