ISIS & Ebola: 2-Strains of Vermin

Thursday, August 7th, 2014

execu ebolaISIS (the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) and ebola (the virus) have a lot in common. They’re both deadly, have no regard for human life, are blind and unthinking, and must be stopped. Ebola is a genetic mutantation that is an extremely deadly form of virus.  Colds are viruses too but they rarely kill people.

ISIS is so extreme and deadly, even al-Queda doesn’t want anything to do with it.  Neither do the vast, vast majority of the world’s 1.6 BILLION Muslims who just want to live in peace.  ISIS wants to establish a fundamentalist, Islamic state under Sharia law – a caliphate. It would be so strict, most of the world’s Muslims would be considered infidels.

And therein lies the problem.

Many people are afraid and confused by the two.  Some think you can catch the ebola virus as easily as you can catch a cold. That’s ridiculous as medical science tells us again and again.  And many ignorant people think murderous maniacs who wave the Koran represent Muslims.  I don’t know if there are many Muslims who think all Christians are like Biblical snake-handlers but there may be.  Chances are they are poor, ignorant, uneducated, and listen to “Holy” men – just like their Christian counterparts.

To live in a civilized world, I’m afraid we must eradicate both ebola and ISIS.

Unintended Smoker

Thursday, August 7th, 2014

This kid was so grossed out by television commercials for the New York State Quit Hotline, he started smoking.  The advertising features real-life closeups of charred lungs, clogged arteries, and amputee stumps. They are intended to be disgusting and they succeed.

I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life but I support reasonable smokers’ rights in open air settings.  I also support the rights of all adults who choose not to be involuntarily subjected to obscene graphics and banal lectures.
