PinocchiObama Drones On

Tuesday, January 28th, 2014

I won’t be watching the State of the Union address tonight. I’ve already heard enough lies from this guy.  Remember how Obama lied about getting out of Iraq and Afghanistan once he was in office? That was in 2007. After he was elected in 2008, he enthusiastically continued the failed Bush-Iraq war policies and doubled down on the Afghanistan war.

He continues to lie about his  “ending the war in Iraq.”  The documented truth is he BEGGED Iraq to let us stay with thousands of combat troops.  Iraq said “no” so today we have over 25,000 CONTRACTORS in the country and a plethora of military weapons.  It’s still falling apart.

Bringing home 34, 000 troops from the Mideast? Good –except it isn’t true.  Obama and Kerry have been begging Karzai for a “security deal” that would keep 10,000 American troops there FOR AT LEAST 10-MORE YEARS! There have been over 6,000 American deaths in these ratholes so far.  FOR WHAT?

Remember  “no military options” in Libya? Lies.

“No military aid to Syrian rebels”? Lies.

Choosing the hard Islamic-Morsi side in Egypt along with Al-Queda?  Lies.

Benghazi?  Lies.

Remember when he was going to launch a military strike against Syria without the approval of Congress, the UN, or NATO? Until he was booed off the world’s stage. Lies.

Saying America’s schizophrenic-interventionist military policy is to protect us against terrorism which, to a large part, it actually causes? LIES.

Obama doesn’t lie ALL of the time, sometimes he “doesn’t know what’s going on.”  See here.

One Giant Leap For Propaganda

Tuesday, January 28th, 2014

Neil Armstrong, was the first American astronaut to walk on the moon in 1969. I can never think of him without thinking of government quotation manipulation.

As he stepped to the lunar surface, Armstrong was supposed to say “This is one small step for A man (meaning him), one giant leap for mankind.” What he actually said was “This is one small step for . . . man, one giant leap for mankind”.  This makes the quote almost meaningless because without the  modifier “A”, the words ‘man’ and ‘mankind’ mean pretty much the same thing.

OK – no big deal – except when the NASA public relations department started lying about it. “Of course he said “A man”, they shrieked, “listen to the tape!”  People listened – and there wasn’t an ‘A’ to be heard for 240,000 miles of space.

The mainstream media and respected historical sources, often propaganda arms of the government, printed the quote with the ‘A’ intact! Examples: Time Magazine, the Encyclopedia Britannica, and Bartlett’s Familiar Quotations.

Again, no big deal. The problem comes when the American people believe without question other government quotes like “We have to invade Iraq because . . . blah, blah, blah”.
