For Assassination Buffs Only

Thursday, November 21st, 2013

I would guess many people reading this will have had enough of my posts about the assassination of John Kennedy.  However, I did want to include a single reference page with links for those who care about my opinions on the JFK/Murder.  Tomorrow I will write about the assassination one last time to answer the question:

So Who DID kill JFK?

The Oswald Press Conference

Why did Oswald supposedly kill Kennedy? The Warren Commission couldn’t find the answer and unfortunately its star witness – whom they had already found guilty – was unavailable for comment.  So they did what they had to do:  they threw a convoluted collection of crap against the wall and hoped a clump hung there for future generations.  The most lasting clump is: Oswald, one of life’s lonely losers, murdered JFK so he could become an important man in history.

That’s interesting – until you think about it.  If Oswald really had killed Kennedy – when exactly was he going to claim his historical fame?  When he continually denied he did it, he sounded more like Ossie the Rabbit than Oswald the Capitalism Giant Killer.  Is that the image he wanted for history?

Within hours of his arrest, the Dallas Police Department became a mecca for just about every  media reporter in the world.  Although this seems ordinary today, 50-years ago it was incredible.  There were no computers, mini-cams, communication-satellites, nor cell phones in those days.  The Dallas Police even set up a press conference so the WORLD could hear what the assassin had t0 say!

What an extraordinary moment for Oswald to loudly proclaim, “I did it for the common man!” or (quoting John Wilkes Booth) “Thus always to tyrants!”  But Oswald did not “claim his place in history.”  He meekly said, “I didn’t kill anybody – I’m just a patsy.”

In terms of murdering JFK, I believe him.
