Where Were You on November 22, 1963?

Wednesday, November 13th, 2013

I forget if I was in Dulles or Dallas.

Many people think that if someone believes in one conspiracy, he believes in all conspiracies. That’s just not true.  I believe there was a conspiracy to murder John Kennedy – but I don’t believe Obama is Kenyan or aliens from space were dancing in the New Mexico desert.  There are many types of nuts in the world; it’s not fair to throw us all into the same bag.

One of the stranger sidelights of JFK’s assassination was the response by some celebrities to the question: “Where were you on November 22, 1963?” Now every American who was older than a child can tell you EXACTLY where he or she was when the shocking news broke.  The nation came to a complete standstill and television stations went to live coverage in Dallas and Washington for 4-days.

But there were two notable exceptions: George Bush, Sr (who said he was “somewhere in Texas”) and Richard M. Nixon who “forgot” where he was altogether.  Ironically, both were in DALLAS, TEXAS that day. Bush on some “oil business” and Nixon addressing a convention of Pepsi Cola bottlers.

Were they involved in the assassination?  Of course not!  Probably not.  Maybe not.  But they sure didn’t want to be associated with that city on that day – and lied about it.  Today, America is a different place than it was 50-years ago. Well, it probably is.  Maybe it is, right?
