A 3-D Printed Gun

Thursday, April 11th, 2013

3-D printing is becoming a reality for the average computer user. He can, for example, make a gun. The printer sprays an incredibly-strong, liquid plastic onto pre-programmed shapes from an internet, digital schematic.  The shapes are then built up by continuous repetition.  They become small, hardened pieces of a gun with an assembly diagram thrown in.  Bullets can be made the same way. You have to buy your own gunpowder – for now. Cost? Low-end, 3-D printers start at around $1000.
