FoxNews Passing Out Tin Foil Hats

Friday, November 2nd, 2012

NBC is hosting a Red Cross fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Sandy tonight at 8:00 pm. Performers include Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel.  “Fox and Friends” wondered if it was putting on the event merely to help President Obama’s re-election campaign.

Say what?

Fox hosts questioned the timing of the show because it’s so close to the election and the political allegiance of the performers.  “Where are the conservative performers?” host Steve Doocy asked. “How’s NBC going to control what people say?”

Let me answer these profound questions.  The fundraiser’s timing has to do with the fact the hurricane hit less than a week ago. Holding it next summer is probably not a good option.  Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, and the rest come from the part of the country devastated most: New York and New Jersey.

Conservative performers?  Who are we talking here?  Ted Nugent and Jenna Jameson?  I’m sure Ted can go on if he chooses.  Jenna?  Not so much.

And how will NBC control what the performers say?  It can’t – but maybe they’ll take a lesson from Madonna last week.  When she tried to promote Obama at a concert, many of her fans booed and some walked out.

To those of you who are still on this planet: I hope you’ll watch NBC at 8:00 pm EST and contribute to the American Red Cross.

(The show was just on and I didn’t hear one word about politics.  Surprised?)

Hilly’s Prerogative To Change Her Mind

Friday, November 2nd, 2012

In the 1970’s, had Richard Nixon pushed the same war policies the Obama administration wages today, Hillary Clinton would lead protests against them.

A lot has changed in 40-years. America lost the War in Vietnam, Nixon was re-elected President by a landslide, and Hillary loved Bill Clinton. But one thing remains the same:  the United States continues to stick its nose into other countries’ affairs with its interventionist foreign policy. And now a once idealistic “peacenik” sounds like every other old, jaded, jingoistic cold-warrior.

What happened, Hilly?

Of course the woman wants to run for President one day.  And she’s taken the first step – giving up her principles for political expediency.
