The Hole Truther

Saturday, October 6th, 2012

What is it about Conservatives? Many of them believe the Warren Commission Report on the assassination of John Kennedy but they don’t believe any other government report they don’t want to hear. They put us through the “birther” issue (Obama wasn’t born here,) the “deather” baloney (Osama Bin Laden wasn’t really killed,) and, for the last few weeks, the “pollers” horseshit (the polls that put Obama ahead are rigged.)

Now they have a new cry saying the unemployment figures released yesterday were “cooked” – manipulated in Obama’s favor. When does rational dissent slip into paranoia? I think we’re now in “the sky is falling” neighborhood.

Alan Krueger, the chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers and one of the nation’s top labor economists, said today, “No serious person would question the integrity of the Bureau of Labor Statistics. These numbers are put together by career employees. They use the same process every month.” General Electric CEO Jack Welch tweeted: “Unbelievable jobs numbers…these Chicago guys will do anything…can’t debate so change the numbers.” Fox News’s homepage blares: “Jobless rate dips under 8 percent, but…IS THE NUMBER REAL?”

This buffoonery is certainly not doing Romney any good. Americans don’t really care about these things.  Maybe they’ll listen to Paul Ryan, Republican-Conservative Vice-Presidential candidate who said, “Aw, Conservatives always complain – it’s just in their nature.”

Maybe.  But it’s starting to get annoying.

Christians And The Offensive Lines

Saturday, October 6th, 2012

I’ll bet you didn’t even know God wants the Kountze, Texas high school football team to win, did you? Well, He does according to the team’s cheerleaders. I guess their team is more Christian than opposing high schools and we won’t even mention the religions of Achmed, Hyman, and Lo Chi.

The girls were sporting game banners with Biblical quotations until a group of atheists, the Freedom From Religion Foundation, warned them to stop. The FFR said the signs crossed the line between church and state possibly violating U.S. Supreme Court rulings barring prayer in schools. The school district banned the signs. Of course this ignited a firestorm of Bible-thumping ranters and cheerleader parents said the school was violating their kids’ free-speech rights.

A Texas judge decided yesterday the banners could wave – for now – until he’s had more time to think about the matter.

Hard-line Christians are always whining that the government and media are trying to squelch their beliefs. That’s horseshit. The Christian religion is powerful and permeates virtually every aspect of American life. Pretty soon Christians will be trying to put Christ into Christmas which everyone knows is a huge Retail holiday that lasts about 3-months.

Do religions and football mix well? We know God has been with the Buffalo Bills football team for many years. Whenever the Bills make one of their patented stupid plays and miss a touchdown, 50,000 fans throw their hands in the air and yell “JESUS CHRIST!!”
