Not even 1/2 the people reading this remember what OWS stands for without giving it some thought. They won’t get any help from the media either because today it’s as newsworthy as Ben Franklin’s dead cat.

Occupy Wall Street was a protest against social and economic inequality, greed, corruption and the undue influence of corporations on the government. It gave us the idea of 99% (us) against 1% (them – incredibly wealthy zillionaires who run the world.)

The main thing the protest did was anger a group of people who called them “dirty hippies,” “Marxists,” and “spoiled rich kids whining” – the same old, cliched taunts.  Somehow “lawnorder” folks thought this movement was a threat against our economic and political systems.  They “thought” with their hearts – not their heads.

I’m glad young people still have the idealist hope that what the “people” say really matters.  The words look nice in our Constitution but that’s really about as far as it goes.

The best thing about OWS is that it gave a lot of cops overtime pay.
