“Be Humble In Victory”

Friday, June 24th, 2011

CONGRATULATIONS TO MY GAY AND TRANSGENDERED FRIENDS! Today you have achieved a long-deserved victory for gay marriage in New York.

The temptation to gloat and push your achievement in your adversaries’ faces must be great. I hope you’ll be better than that.  You – more than most people – should be sensitive to the hopeless feelings of people who see their way of life being drastically changed.  They may say things and act in a deplorable manner.  Please don’t get tarnished by their hatred.

You don’t need me to tell you that Gay Pride doesn’t mean being better than everyone else.  It means being the same as everyone else.  Again, congratulations!

Obama Only Gets One Kick In The Nuts Today

Friday, June 24th, 2011

From the New York Times, June 24, 20011

“WASHINGTON — The House dealt a symbolic blow to President Obama today by resoundingly rejecting a bill that would authorize the contentious operations in Libya. But it muddled the message by also turning back a measure that would have limited funds for the effort there.

The resolution to support the mission failed 295 to 123, with 70 Democrats joining Republicans in a pointed show of defiance to Mr. Obama, who has said he does not need Congressional authorization for the Libyan operations.

The second measure the House rejected would have essentially prohibited money for direct combat activity, financing only support operations like search and rescue, aerial refueling, operational planning, and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance. Only 180 House members supported the measure, while 238, including 89 Republicans, voted against it.”

Would you like to see a video of Stephen Colbert – the most liberal of Liberals – slamming Obama for his illegal Wars in Libya, Afghanistan, etc?

Would J. Edgar Marry Clyde Today?

Friday, June 24th, 2011

“I wear the vest in this family, Bitch!”

There’s not a serious biographer of J. Edgar Hoover, long time Director of the FBI, who has denied his homosexuality. Hoover and his “special friend” Clyde Tolson, worked together (Clyde was Hoover’s ‘right hand man’- so to speak), dined daily together, went on vacations together, and remained “bachelors” for 40-years. They are now buried next to each other in a Washington cemetery.

I believe Hoover was a right-wing, crooked bastard who inflamed the country about “Communists”, trampled over Americans’ civil rights, kept virtual blackmail files on important contemporaries, and fired gay FBI men simply because they were gay.  Pathetically, he kept large, “girlie” pictures over his basement bar to “prove” his masculinity.

As much as I detest the man’s politics and underhanded dealings, I feel a little sorry he had to lead a double-life about his sexuality.  If the asshole were alive today, I doubt he would come out or marry his lover, but maybe he would’ve been a little more tolerant and kinder to people.
