A Note to Terrorists:

Friday, June 11th, 2010

When 911 exploded and leveled 3000 lives and two of our most famous structures, America was shocked.  How naive we were – and how unprepared.  Fortunately it’s now 9-YEARS later and today we’re neither naive nor unprepared, right?  Sure kid, and maybe the cow really did jump over the moon.

Last month in a 61-page report,  the Inspector General of the Justice Department said his branch of government is not prepared to ensure public safety in the days or weeks after a terrorist attack in which nuclear, biological or chemical weapons are used.  (I assume if any terrorists threw rocks, spears or insults at us, it could handle those.)

Of course, the Department of Homeland Security is designated to be first responder in the event of a WMD attack (and what a confidence-inspiring crew they are). But the Department of Justice has a crucial role in a crisis. It’s to manage and coordinate law enforcement and step in if state and local authorities don’t know what to do – which they most certainly will not.

What’s been the problem here?  Money, of course.  Not enough funding to properly protect America here at home.  Shall I even bring up the $1-Trillion dollars we’ve thrown (and continue to throw) into those rat holes in the Mideast?  Oh, never mind – have a good weekend.
