“Nobody’s Right When Everyone is Wrong”

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

On May 4, 1970, National Guardsmen on the campus of Kent State University opened fire on thousands of unarmed students only some of whom were protesting the war in Vietnam.  Over 5-dozen shots were fired by a few of the poorly-trained Guardsmen as others looked on in horror.  Within seconds, nine students were wounded and four lay dead.  Most of the fatalities were students just observing the confrontation.

In 1978, H.R.Haldeman, a top aid of  President Richard Nixon, stated the shootings at Kent State began the eventual destruction of the Nixon administration.

In the 1990’s former Department of Defense Chairman Robert S. McNamara, the “Architect of  the War in Vietnam” said the war was “a terrible mistake”.

His own children had stopped talking to him years before.

In 1975, America lost the war in Vietnam.

Today, Vietnam is a strong trading partner of the United States.
